Hi! I'm Kathleen Johnston, writing as K.L. Johnston - best known for regional works and poetry centered in spiritual experience, nature, and trauma survival - as well as a quirky sense of humor. I write in a number of genres for the secular as well as Christian markets. 

​

With three books of poetry, “In Every Season”, “The Nature of These Gifts", and "Grace Period” already published, it's a natural jump for me to go from narrative free verse to flash fiction. My spooky cozy stories and odd little tales appear occasionally in literary magazines. Longer works in process include a children's book, a non-fiction memoir, and an urban fantasy novel.

As an opportunistic photographer I use my camera to seize moments of discovery. Travel allows me to create libraries of photos and memories that speak to people from around the world. Previously published photography can be found in literary and travel journals in print and on the web. I'm enjoying myself in this life. Faith in a triune God, joy and a contemplative life provide a remedy for anything this broken world can throw at us. I hope you'll join me for some of the better moments. Journeys are always better with friends.
